It is also an exciting month this year because we are having our 1st annual career expo for youth called the What’s Next? Career Expo to be held:
Thurs., March 17th, 2016, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Ithaca College, Emerson Suites
This one-day event will help ~350 juniors, seniors, and out-of-school youth ages 17-24 from the Ithaca/Finger Lakes Region explore careers available without a four-year college education. Young people will have the opportunity to attend and participate in the:
CAREER FAIR

Students will get the opportunity to interview employers and ask questions that would help them explore opportunities within the business or industry leader

A participation worksheet will be provided for guidance
COLLEGE FAIR There will be several colleges tabling at the expo providing information on:

Professional Development

Trade or Specialized Training

Professional Certificates
-
Two-year Degree Programs
WORKSHOPS We will offer five different workshops for students to participate in. They will have the opportunity to choose from four of five workshops:

Entrepreneurship

Skilled Trades
-
Online Applications/Civil Service Exams

Resume Building
-
Networking
PANEL DISCUSSIONS A dedicated area will be set-up for students to be involved in panel discussions with various business leaders and have the opportunity to talk about:

Programs and/or classes offered
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Join the following keynote speakers in a panel discussion style format to allow for Q&A and learn more about overcoming challenges, discovering your strengths, conquering your weaknesses and moving toward ongoing improvement and continued success:
